The World Green Design Organization (WGDO) is the world's first non-profit international organization dedicated to advocating and promoting the concept of "green design" while driving the global green transition and addressing climate change. It is officially certified by the European Union and holds "Special Consultative Status" with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
The successful hosting of the WGDO Annual Conference and Brussels Summit not only showcased the critical role of green design in addressing global challenges but also provided new ideas and directions for future international cooperation and innovative development. Liu Weibing's award further highlights the significant role of green design in improving the human living environment, encouraging more people to pay attention to and participate in green design, jointly creating a better living environment for humanity, and advancing the process of global sustainable development.
Liu Weibing (Member of the China Green Building and Energy Conservation Committee, Historical and Cultural Expert of the China Cultural Heritage Protection Foundation, Member of the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB), and Chairman of the World Green Design Organization's Ecological Human Settlements Committee (WGDO - EHSSC)) has received numerous international awards for his work, including the Global Human Settlements Planning and Design Award (GFHS & UNEP), the Asian Urban Landscape Award (UN-Habitat), the Jintai Science and Technology Award (Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China), the inaugural AIA China Architecture Award (American Institute of Architects), and the Outstanding Contribution Award to China's Ethnic Architecture (China Ethnic Architecture Research Association). Representative projects include the Protection and Renewal Project of the Linpan Settlements in Western Sichuan, the Danling Xingfuling Ecological Homestay Settlement, and the Linpan Complex Renewal Project. These projects not only demonstrate exceptional innovation in architectural design but also showcase how to achieve harmony between architecture and nature while preserving historical and cultural heritage. These successful cases provide practical experience for global green architectural design, guiding more designers to explore green design methods suited to local characteristics and jointly promote the global green transition and sustainable development.

Amid the global quest for sustainable development paths, Liu Weibing persistently advocates for the design philosophy of "looking back at the past, focusing on the forefront, and reconciling with nature." This philosophy breaks the limitations of traditional architectural design, closely integrates regional culture with the ecological environment, and provides a new perspective for green architectural design. His award helps promote the dissemination and application of this philosophy worldwide, allowing more people to recognize that green architecture is not just about technological application but also a deep integration of culture and ecology. It also offers an exemplary design philosophy for the industry, serving as a model for the promotion and application of green architecture globally and contributing Chinese wisdom and strength to the global effort to address climate change.
