Recently, the "Dujiangyan City Lighting Project" designed by our company has been honored with the highest award in China's lighting industry—the 2017 "ALighting Award" for Excellent Engineering. The night time lighting project primarily focuses on the main urban roads of Dujiangyan City, the buildings along both sides of the roads, the river systems, bridges, and scenic areas within the city. It encompasses one core area, namely the old city district of Dujiangyan; two main corridors: Yingbin Road–Rainbow Avenue–Dujiangyan Avenue (main corridor) and Yingbin Road–First Ring Road–Dujiangyan Avenue (secondary corridor); four water systems: Zouma River, Baitiao River, Jiang'an River, and Puyang River (within the first ring road); as well as key gateways and nodal areas. This distinguished honor not only represents the ultimate recognition of David Design’s ability to integrate lighting technology with artistic expression but also serves as high praise for the cultural depth and innovative concepts behind the project.

Under the guidance of the design philosophy, "Enchanting Dujiangyan: An Unexpected Encounter Bridging Ancient and Modern," we used light as our brush and the night as our canvas to systematically, artistically, and culturally elevate the nighttime landscape of Dujiangyan—a historic city renowned as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the birthplace of Taoism, and an international tourist destination. The lighting not only outlines the contours of the ancient irrigation system and its surrounding mountains and rivers but also narrates a dialogue between the millennia-old Taoist essence and the contemporary urban environment.

The ALighting Award is hailed as the "Oscars" of China's lighting industry, aiming to recognize projects that serve as benchmarks in technological breakthroughs, design innovation, and cultural expression. Standing out among numerous submissions, the Dujiangyan Lighting Project showcases David Design's exceptional capabilities in creating luminous environments, cultural lighting design, and the implementation of large-scale nighttime engineering projects.
