He is acclaimed as "the foremost guardian of the Linpan settlements in Western Sichuan." As the curator of the China Pavilion at the 23rd Milan International Triennial, he has received numerous prestigious awards, including the Global Human Settlements Planning and Design Award, the UN-Habitat Asian Urban Landscape Award, the National Jingrui Science and Technology Award, and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Unbuilt Architecture Award. His work has been included in the Yearbook of the People's Republic of China and the Yearbook of Chinese Scientists. He has been invited to deliver speeches at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, the World Urban Forum, the Berlin High-Level Urban Dialogue, and other prominent forums, earning high acclaim. He is recognized as a leading figure in regional cultural innovation in architecture. His major publications include Charlie (a pictorial journey through Tibetan regions), Linpan (a record of Western Sichuan vernacular dwellings), and The Intangible (reflections on human settlements).
